Equine-Assisted Learning

Equine-Assisted Learning Sessions

During an individual session, the horses are equal partners in supporting therapeutic learning opportunities during shared learning experiences. Through a combination of body/breathwork, sharing territory, and mindful interactions, clients, explore connecting to their senses and intuition as they communicate and interact with these highly somatic beings. Horses respond to body language, emotion, and energy in ways that will allow clients to look within at their communication and thought patterns. A session will often end with an expressive sandtray experience to integrate and process their time with the horses.

Participants participate in Equine-Assisted learning sessions for a variety of reasons. Some of these may include:

  • Creating healthier relationship patterns

  • Learning to manage anxiety and stress

  • Working with and embracing grief

  • Setting and respecting healthy boundaries

  • Quieting the mind

  • Exploring and developing consensual leadership skills at work and at home.

Regardless of the reason, participants will explore time with the equines sharing territory and creating connections through listening, observing, and staying in the present moment. All sessions are on the ground.
