What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga Therapy is a holistic approach to healing that bridges the gap between Eastern and Western science. As science redefines its understanding of illness, we are learning that our mental state, habits of mind and lifestyle activities have a deeply contributive role in our overall health.
Yoga Therapy sessions support individuals who want to feel better in their body and mind. Learn how to manage your own nervous system and understand how stress, anxiety, anger and fear impact our physical and emotional health.You will learn breathwork practices and movements that are intended to relieve pain, manage stress, improve sleep and digestion and address many other health conditions. Yoga Therapists are specially trained to utilize the teachings and practices of yoga to address specific mental health and physical conditions.
Yoga Therapy sessions are for people who want to explore yoga and breathing techniques to address a specific health issue or condition.
During a session, your Yoga Therapist will:
Assess your physical ability, breathing capacity/patterns, psychological state, life situation and nature of illness/concern
Discuss your goals for therapy
Create a unique treatment plan for you consisting of breathwork practices, yoga postures, meditation and mindfulness techniques
Yoga Therapy sessions are highly customizable to meet your individual physical and emotional needs.
No prior yoga experience necessary. In person and online Zoom sessions available.
